The Youth Law Center has provided legal services for children since 1978, protecting kids from abuse and neglect in the foster and judicial system. Their staff of legal experts litigates, educates, collaborates, disseminates, and advocates–bringing about leadership on child welfare issues and reform on the juvenile justice system.
The Youth Law Center offers resources to the public, including Know your Rights. For those who believe a child is being abused or neglected, these resources can keep that child safe. They protect children who have been tried as adults, kids with mental illnesses, and youth struggling in the juvenile justice system. They also have a mission to stop kids from becoming violent adult offenders, ending the cycle of violence. This organization matters because they protect the children who are usually unnoticed and forgotten, reaffirming the belief of NoSchoolViolence.org that ALL children deserve to be kept safe from violence.
